Aer Lingus flights from Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, USA offer convenient access to twenty four cities in Europe.

Travel Expert and Show Host Stephanie Abrams talks with Jeff Wright, Director of Sales North America for Aer Lingus in this segment. Jeff says he has been with Aer Lingus for six years and before that was a British Airways employee for thirty two years. Aer Lingus operates out of ten cities in North America and the focus of this segment is on connecting service through Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

Jeff Wright explains that travelers can fly from Bradley International Airport (BDL) and connect with twenty four airports in Europe easily with Aer Lingus or structure a trip from Bradley International to Dublin, Ireland with an ongoing connection. According to Jeff Wright, most connections will arrive before 10am for most of Europe. Travel Expert Stephanie Abrams describes Bradley International Airport as "like little shopping mall" and explains that other international airports like Dallas Texas' (DFW) or Houston Texas' (IAH) are gigantic and time consuming to traverse between terminals. Bradley in contrast is easy to get to, park at and offers a user friendly experience. Major benefits to flying via Bradley International are its smaller size, comparatively inexpensive long-term parking and convenient regional location. The airport is located slightly north of Hartford, Connecticut, USA and Jeff Wright explains that it easily serves Western Massachusetts, Connecticut and upstate New York.

Stephanie Abrams suggests that travelers should plan to arrive at the airport early and take advantage of exploring the stores and restaurants. Regardless of the venue she says airports are often populated with great shops, pubs, restaurants and even art exhibits that can make arriving early a fun part of the travel experience. She says she likes to arrive as much as 4 hours early to beat the crowd and relax after getting through security.

Jeff Wright Director of Sales North America for Aer Lingus agrees with Stephanie Abrams that Bradley is a convenient and manageable airport. Aer Lingus travelers can take advantage of visiting the Escape Lounge. Access to the lounge is complimentary for Business Class travelers as well as those with Platinum level Air Club frequent Flier cards. Otherwise fliers can purchase a day pass for access to the Escape Lounge for $45 per person. Jeff says this will include food and drink that are available and offers a nice place to sit and relax before getting on the flight.

The twenty four cities connecting to Bradley International Airport include: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Birmingham, Bristol, Brussels, Bordeaux, Donegal, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Exeter, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Inverness, Isle of Man, Kerry, Leeds Bradford, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Newcastle, Paris and Southampton. Jeff notes that Hamburg, Germany is a very close drive to Denmark so if planning a Denmark trip flying with Aer Lingus can make a lot of sense.

Jeff points out that if you travel with Aer Lingus with a stop-over in Ireland, continuing on to another country, the stop-over is free. This means travelers can plan a trip that includes a few days in Ireland before continuing on to a final destination without any extra cost or penalty. The no-fee stop-over applies to both arrivals and departures so you can incorporate the stop-over at the beginning or end of a trip. Stephanie points out that other airlines charge a handsome fee for this type of stop-over.

Jeff Wright explains that Aer Lingus flies to ten cities in North America so travelers can also structure a flight plan that has different USA cities as the start and end point for the journey. For instance travelers can fly from NYC (if you are in town for business) to Ireland, stop-over for several days at no additional cost in Ireland, and then continue on to one of the twenty four European cities listed above. Travelers can then return back to the USA via Ireland with another no-cost stop over and return to San Francisco, or Los Angeles (etc.), at no additional cost. An itinerary like this might make a lot of sense if, for instance, your company is paying for your flight from San Francisco to NYC for business and you plan to start a personal trip directly from NYC to Ireland without first flying back home to San Francisco.

Stephanie and Jeff agree that long term overnight parking at Bradley is very economical when compared with other international airports in the region. Jeff says that a week of parking at Bradley can cost as much as just one day at JFK in New York.

Another benefit of travel between the USA and Ireland is that travelers can pre-clear USA customs and immigration in Ireland so that once they arrive back in the USA they can simply get their bags and leave the airport.

Jeff Wright says Aer Lingus Business class compares with many other airline's first class offerings. Aer Lingus Business Class cabin offers lie-flat seating with massage, fine dining, and "some of the best meals you'll ever have". If flying in business class Aer Lingus includes 3 free bags and Jeff suggests the third bag could be a golf bag.

While business class flights are not inexpensive, Jeff says that if you shop far enough in advance and "can live with some of the restrictions" travelers can get a round trip ticket in business class for as little as $2500USD. Some restrictions include minimum stays. For tall passengers seats in the main cabin with extra leg room are available and Stephanie notes that the pricing for this upgrade is in some cases less than what passengers on USA domestic flights would pay for a similar upgrade.
