Learn about how flying boats flew out of Foynes Airport, the old Shannon Airport, flown by Capt. Charles Lindburgh as the pilot, doing surveillance of the North Atlantic during WWII patrolling for German Submarines as part of the Irish assistance in keeping America safe.

Reminisce  about the famous people who flew into Foynes on the flying boat including John F. Kennedy, Martha Rae, Bob Hope, Eleanor Roosevelt, Marilyn Monroe and  the marriage of Ireland's National Treasure, Maureen O'Hara, wife of Capt. Charles Blare who was a flying boat pilot, who is godmother of the Foynes Flying Boat Museum.

Visit with Pennie Beach whose family run resort, Basin Harbor, providing 77 cottages and 42 guest rooms on Lake Champlain, 30 mile south of Burlington, VT. And 2 hours drive from Montreal. This Historic Hotel of America member has a long history starting as a working farm in 1882.
