Irish Travel Itinerary: The Irish are Coming!


Wednesday/ October 10th:
8am Breakfast at Eastover for guests only
9:00am tour of Eastover’s Civil War Museum and grounds.
10:00 am Depart for Norman Rockwell Museum
10:15am Arrive at museum. Please collect total due on board bus ($6.50ea.)
10:30am See film on history of Norman Rockwell downstairs viewing room
10:55am Assemble in lobby of museum for 11am guided tour
11:00am Tour Norman Rockwell Museum with guide
After tour: visit Norman Rockwell’s studio on grounds, have your box lunch on outdoor terrace next to gift shop, visit gift shop, walk grounds.
1:15pm Depart Eastover for Chesterwood, summer home and studio of Daniel Chester French (admission: $9.00ea)
1:30pm Tour Chesterwood house, studio, gardens/grounds, and gift shop
3:00pm Depart Chesterwood
Arrive Stockbridge (approx. 3:30pm) for leisure time to explore town, visit Red Lion Inn, town shops and Country Curtains.
4:30pm Return to Eastover to relax before dinner.
6:30pm Dinner at Eastover with local residents joining dinner
Fee for local residents: Adults: $15 Chidren: $8
Includes service and tax and after dinner
Hayrides to a Bonfire on grounds of Eastover

Thursday, October 11th:
7:45am Breakfast at Eastover for guests only
9:00am Depart for Andrew DeVries Art Gallery in Lenox
9:15am Arrive at DeVries Gallery
9:45:am Depart DeVries Gallery and Lenox
10:00am arrive Arrowhead, Home of Herman Melville (group rate: $5.00ea.)
11:00pm depart Arrowhead
11:30am arrive at Pettibone Farm, the oldest house in Lanesborough, built in 1790 and restored to museum quality restoration. Inhabited by the Shulman family who has invited the Irish group to visit.
Noon: depart Pettibone Farm for Lanesborough, MA Town Hall.
12:10pm arrive Lanesborough Town Hall for lunch with Seniors
After lunch, 12 people will join the sightseeing program
1:00pm depart on walking tour of Lanesborough historic sites
The bus will be available for those who do not wish to walk from
site to site and in the event of uncooperative weather conditions.
From sites along the Main Street area, the group will visit the
Greylock Visitors Center at the foot of Mount Greylock, the tallest
In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and then visit the Old Stone
School House which is now an art gallery and B&B for “Tour and Tea
Time” Jeff Dechaine will lead the walking/bus tour of town sites.
3:00pm Deliver Seniors back to Town Hall and continue to Balance Rock
Park.
3:30 pm Depart Balance Rock Park for Berkshire Crowne Plaza/ Pittsfield
5:45pm depart Berkshire Crowne Plaza for Skyline Golf Club
6pm to 7pm Cocktail hour (cash bar)
7pm Dinner and appropriate speeches and music by the Wintergreens.

NOTE: Lanesborough, Ireland attendees will be the guests of
Mark & Stephanie Abrams at this event.

9:30/10pm: (time TBA) Group returns to Crowne Plaza for overnight.


Friday, October 12th:
7:45am Breakfast at Crowne Plaza
9:00am Tour of historic, gilded age Colonial Theatre
9:30am depart Colonial Theatre
10:00am arrival at Lanesborough Elementary school prepared program
11:00am departure from school
11:10am stop at Lanesborough Town Hall for any who wish to join group
11:30am Stop at Berkshire Visitors Bureau’s Headquarters
12:15 pm Visit toNatural Marble Bridge. There will be a $30.00 fee for parking the bus.
1:15pm depart for visit to Williamstown.
1:30pm Stop for lunch at The Williams Inn. Group set up with a la carte menus. Those who wish to skip lunch can spend time at leisure in historic Williamstown to visit Williams College Museum of Art, town shops.
4:00pm Depart Williamstown/pick up points to be determined by driver.
4:30pm Arrive Crowne Plaza
6:15pm depart Crowne Plaza for Laneborough Fire House
6:30pm arrive Fire House for hors d’oeuvres/drinks
Pipers will be on hand to pipe the Irish guests into the FireHouse
(and others as they arrive)
7:30pm Go to Town Hall for ceremonial twinning of cities and appropriate presentations: Key to Town, Scrapbook presentation
8:00pm Go to Lanesborough’s Old Forge for food/drink/carousing.
First $100 of snacks and drinks sponsored by Barb Hassan Realty
Michael Farrell Irish Dancers
Music provided provided by Bill Prendergast, Sr.
Then return to hotel/ time TBA


Saturday, October 13th:
9:00am Breakfast at Crowne Plaza
10:15am Depart for Prime Lee Outlets
1:45pm Depart Prime Outlets
2:30pm Arrive Hancock Shaker Village ($20.00 each for admission & show)
4:45pm departure if you are going to 5:30pm Mass in Lanesborough
If only some people want to go to church, we may be able to arrange
Car transportation for them while the rest of the group explores HSV.
4:45pm Depart Hancock Shaker Village for Church of No. American Martyrs
5:30pm Church service
At end of church service: Return to Crowne Plaza Hotel
7:45pm Depart hotel for Derek James Restaurant & Pub in Lanesborough
Cash bar/ order on your own
The Dossers Irish band provided by Derek James Restaurant
11:00pm (or as needed) Return to hotel

Sunday, October 14th:
7:00am Breakfast at Crowne Plaza
8:30am depart Crowne Plaza
8:45am Pass Lanesborough Town Hall for Farewell
10:30am Visit Shelburne Falls/Bridge of Flowers
11:15am depart Shelburne Falls
1:15pm: Arrive Salem Witch Museum (group rate $7.50 per person) and check in
1:30pm Experience Salem Witch Museum
2:45pm Depart Salem
4:00pm Arrive Boston Logan Airport for check-in for your flight.
