"Stephanie Abrams Travel Expo Travel Expo at Tanglewood bridges gap between travel and music."

 


Boston, September 12, 2007
— The Stephanie Abrams Travel Expo at Tanglewood has bridged the gap between travel and music with a free piano concert on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 10am to 4pm. The program will run continuously without intermission so that attendees to the travel exhibit can opt into the concert at any point. The performers include piano competition award winners from the Germaine Pinault School of Music located in Manhasset, NY. The Executive Director of the school, world renowned concert pianist, Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi, is scheduled to give the last performance of the day to close the program and the Stephanie Abrams Travel Expo at Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra located in Lenox, Massachusetts.

The students range in age from eleven to nearing retirement! All demonstrate an amazing amount of skill, talent and sensitivity and have been specially selected by Mme. Bottazzi to perform in prestigious Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood. The following overviews the pieces that will be performed and biographical information about each performer:

NICOLAS GIACALONE

Nicolas Giacalone is eleven years old. Born in New York, he has been studying the piano for six years at The Pinault School of Music under the direction of Dr. Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi and Dr. Bruno Bottazzi. In 2005 Nicolas was awarded a partial scholarship from the Pinault School. He has participated in thirty concerts including five performances at The Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. He has performed in New York at Cami Hall, Steinway Hall, and The Goethe Institute and at The Pinault School’s Annual Gala Concerts. Nicolas has performed two solo recitals, his first in March, 2006 and his second in May, 2007.

Carol Szwei is thirteen years old. She has studied piano for two and a half years with Professor Robert Wichlan at the Pinault School of Music.

Hoshi Hemmi

Hoshi Hemmi, born in Japan, is 11 years old. He began playing the piano at the age of four. He studied with Mrs. Sakakibara, and now is a student of Dr. Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi (Ph. D., DMA) and Dr. Bruno Bottazzi (Ph. D) of the Pinault School of Music. He received perfect marks of 100 in NYSSMA at the top level in 2007. He has performed at Carnegie Hall five times and Steinway Hall three times.
