Bolongo Bay,
St. Thomas
If you want to escape the cold, gray,
or very white, winter, try sunny St. Thomas in the US Virgin
Islands where I’m experiencing an 80 difference between
the weather here and the weather at home in the Beautiful Berkshire
Mountains of Western Massachusetts! If you’re a skier,
you’ll love the Berkshires at this time or year but you
might want to apply your skills to water skiing in more temperate
surroundings!

I can’t wait to go out on the Heavenly
Days catamaran moored at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort on a beautiful
stretch of sugary sand. This is a small, intimate resort with
one of the friendliest staffs I’ve ever encountered anywhere
in the world! This family owned and managed resort reflects
their philosophy of providing relaxed and comfortable accommodations
where “no worries” seems to be the focus of every
day for the guests. There are accommodations here with front
and back doors so you can enter on the parking and garden side
and exit to your balcony or terrace at sand-level to enjoy the
amazing view of the sapphire waters and small islands in the
distance. I’ve counted the steps from the seaside door
of my room to the sand and paced it off at 12 steps where lounge
chairs and thatched umbrellas await my visit! It’s so
nice to have my room, furnished in Caribbean rattan and wicker
over white ceramic tiles, only 12 steps away from the sand and
the sea, affording me incredible convenience for quick changes
of everything from what I’m reading to what I’m
wearing!
Dinners at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort are another
awesome surprise! You’ll find lobster dishes in abundance
and the filet mignon compares admirably with the quality of
what you’d expect at a Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s
steak house.
If your focus is on relaxing in comfort, where
the staff goes out of their way to attend to you in a warm and
very friendly way, where the beach is at your footsteps no matter
where you are on the property, and where you can “come
as you are” and vege out, you will love this place! Bolongo
Bay Beach Resort offers real vacation value in an intimate setting
for those who enjoy the beach, water sports, and the stress-free
beachcomber’s lifestyle while not giving up service, comfort,
incredible views from the accommodations, beach and poolside
bar, and restaurants. And for best value, opt for the all-inclusive
plan!
