While
you pronounce the name of this German town like the English word
‘noise,’ the small city of Neuss is big news for the
traveler in search of charm, history, art, architecture, music,

the shopping area. Neuss is the more residential section of Dusseldorf,

The symbol of Neuss is the s is the Quirinius- Muenster church
built in the Romanesque style between 1209 and 1230..

Zeughaus, the former church and monastery, built in the middle
of the 17th century, was used as a school from 1803 to 1898. Since
its renovation in 1990, Zeughaus has been used as a concert hall
and location for important events.

Erwin Heerich, designed eleven buildings that are, themselves,
artistic sculptures. This unique museum joi8ngs nature with art
in a special setting called Stiftung Insel Hombroich.

theater, and special events abound in Neuss. Among the yearly
events you’ll find the Neuser Buergerschuetzenfest when,
for five days each year at the end of August, Neuss, becomes a
huge festival with locals and visitors join in the Citizen’s
Fair and Festival. Over 6000 active riflemen participate in parades
with marching bands complete with a fair right in the middle of
the city center. You’ll find this ancient city buzzing with
the sounds of music and laughter as families enjoy the merry-go-round,
beer tents and food stands which abound in town center and across
the fairgrounds.
Nature
abounds in Nuess! You’ll find and 18 hole championship golf
course on 237 acres, foot
paths specially made for those who want to walk barefoot on a
variety of paths made of marble, shells, gravel bark and sand,
and a meadow to relax in!
